Jug by The Camphill Village Trust
This jug is made from stoneware clay from Stoke-on-Trent and hand thrown on the wheel by people with learning difficulties and disabilities, through the Camphill Village Trust charity at The Grange in Newnham-on-Severn.
The jug features a muted pearl coloured glaze and a soft, rippled texture from being made on the wheel, making each item unique. Some items also feature initials of the person who has made it.
Produced through a person-centred approach in which support is tailored to each individual's needs and provides opportunities for personal growth, fulfilling, skilled and meaningful work, social interaction, education and cultural inspiration.
The charity gives the individuals purpose, opportunities and self-worth regardless of their abilities. Respecting the unique identity and dignity of each person and seeking to find meaning, value, social contribution and achievement in their lives.
