Avocado Dyed Napkins by Christine Lewis
These hemp + cotton napkins are handmade by Christine Lewis and naturally dyed using avocado pits that would have otherwise been discarded as kitchen waste.
Christine makes all her products by hand in her studio next to her garden where she grows her dyestuffs, using the slow process of extracting natural dyes from berries, barks, flowers and vegetables.
The thick hemp sits in a dye bath to absorb its rich hues and is left to bond for over 10 days before being hand stitched individually.
Rainwater, season, soil and the age of the plant-stuff all influence the colour in the dye pot, so every product is unique. This can't be replicated by synthetic dyes and brings wonder and excitement to every dye batch.
There may be a slight variation in size and colour as they are made individually.
Made to order, please allow 3 weeks to be dispatched.

Caring for your Naturally Dyed Textiles:
Naturally dyed textiles; like all fabrics will fade if left in direct sunlight for prolonged periods.
To launder, place in very cool water with a tiny drop of ph. neutral washing liquid. Air dry out of direct sunlight. Do not dry clean.
Please note: Natural dyes are highly sensitive to citric acids which will change the colour of the fabric.
