Wool Blanket by London Cloth Company
This wool blanket is produced by London Cloth Company, the first micro mill to open in London. The company first came to be when Daniel, the owner rescued a rusting loom from an old barn in rural Wales.
With no training or prior knowledge of weaving, Daniel learnt as he went along. Fully dismantling and reassembling machines that hadn’t been touched for 30 years, he quickly taught himself all the intricacies of the different parts and restored them back to working order.
Specialising in quality woven cloth, particularly woollens, produced on their ever-expanding range of carefully restored shuttle looms, some dating from the 1870s, employing the same techniques that have not changed for decades.
The blanket is a cream colour with slubs with a faint white diamond base pattern design and two dark grey stripes at the edges.
Woven on a 1970's Somet AC2 machine.
